Quick-detachable connections (BRS) are devices that are used for joining hoses, hoses, pipes, as well as various parts in production. Such compounds are used in many areas of modern life and are characterized by reliability and high tightness in high pressure environments. Device and dimensions

The quick disconnect coupling BRS consists of two main parts. The names of these parts are quite diverse. However, it would be most correct to call them “coupling” and “nipple”. In the people they are also called "mom and dad."

A conventional coupling (“mother”) consists of the following structural elements:

• housing;
• a clamp for fixing, which consists of a locking sleeve and clamping balls;
• check valve;
• O-ring for sealing the joint;
• connection adapter (separate or integrated).

Quick couplings may have other components, however, such products are less common than standard ones.

The structure of the nipple includes the following structural elements:

• housing;
• check valve;
• connection adapter (as in the case of the coupling, it can be separate or integrated);
• sealing element.

Fittings vary in design, diameter and purpose

Quick disconnect connections have a wide range of products that differ in length, diameter, weight, etc. The most popular are products with diameters from 12 to 150 mm. Many companies produce BRS for individual orders. The diameter of such products can reach up to 540 mm.

Operating principle

Installation of a quick-disconnect connection can be performed by anyone who does not have special construction skills and professional tools. The quick disconnect device is connected as follows:

1. First, push the locking sleeve on the clutch. Spin towards the adapter. The clamping balls extend, which makes it easy to insert the coupling into the nipple.
2. Then the previously prepared coupling is inserted into the nipple.
3. Next, you need to release the sleeve. As a result of these manipulations, the clutch is securely fixed in the nipple, while the check valves open simultaneously with the fixation.

To make the connection, you just need to insert the parts of the fitting into each other

Note! You can remove the BRS by performing the above manipulations in the reverse order.

There are products that do not require a sleeve clamp for mounting. In such devices, the coupling is inserted into the nipple without pressing the sleeve, that is, automatically. You just need to push a little - and the connection is ready.

Types of connections

According to the location and number of valves, all BRS are divided into three main groups:

• having a free passage (not equipped with valves);
• the valve is located on one side;
• have valves on both sides.

Products for quick fixing of sleeves are equipped with a convenient snap mechanism. Installation of such BRS is easy and such a connection reliably fixes the tube.

To date, the range of these products is incredibly wide, which allows you to choose the right BRS for a particular case. Today, you can purchase a quick coupler of several types:

• BRS equipped with a fixing wedge;
• cam devices (Camlock);
• products from European manufacturers (BAUER and Perrot);
• ISO connections that incorporate a conical valve.

BRS are able to dock flexible hoses or metal and plastic pipelines. Quick disconnect fittings for various pipelines can be made in various variations: couplings, tees, crosspieces, etc. This connection is carried out by means of a special fixture for clamping - collets.

Quick disconnect (BRS) collet connections also allow for quick installation and dismantling of the pipeline structure. The main feature of this connection is that thanks to it, the transition to the thread is carried out.

Hose quick coupling

Hoses are widely used in various enterprises and in everyday life. They are made from various materials: polyvinyl chloride (PVC), rubber, silicone, etc. Pneumatic tools are connected using hoses, and they are also used for hydraulic structures. In everyday life, watering is carried out using hoses.

Note! BRS simplify and accelerate the assembly of hoses, sometimes the connection is made without turning off the water (on the go). This is very convenient and saves a lot of effort and time, and also allows you to assemble the irrigation system in the process, adjusting its configuration as necessary.

The quick-detachable hose fitting allows you to connect a hose, extend it, or dock with a pump. The diameters of such connecting devices vary from 12 to 150 mm.

It is worth remembering that reliable products are not always the most expensive. Of course, it is better to purchase products from well-known manufacturers. But from a fake or defective part, you can not be fully insured.
