Clamp support for clamping pipes clamp (OPH) is a device that is used in the installation of various pipelines. Such supports fix the pipes and compensate for their vibrations. In addition, they protect the thermal insulation on the pipes from environmental influences. The sliding version of the support allows the pipes to move in the right direction.

Moving clamp support

Sliding supports are necessary for those highways in which pipes can move due to thermal expansion

Types of support for pipelines

To date, there are several options for such products that differ from each other in design features and technical characteristics. First of all, all supports are classified into:

  • movable;
  • motionless.

Movable supports can be:

  • sliding;
  • creeping;
  • suspended;
  • roller;
  • spring loaded.

The type of support depends on what kind of communication it will be used for. When choosing a support, a number of key factors must be taken into account:

  • purpose of pipes;
  • place of installation (external or internal structures);
  • mounting option (horizontal or vertical pipeline);
  • system length.
Moving clamp support

The support is an important component of the pipeline; the reliability and operability of the pipeline depend on it in many respects.

In addition, you need to take into account the number of turns and bends in the highway. This is a very important indicator that is often forgotten.

Where are clamped sliding bearings used?

Among the applications are:

  • water pipes (cold and hot);
  • heat pipes;
  • sewer lines;
  • network of power plants.

In some cases, such supports are used in severe climatic conditions. For example, in areas with very low air temperatures (permafrost). This product allows you to compensate for fluctuations in the system caused by temperature factors.

Features and design of sliding clamp support

Such products are obtained by stamping. After the part is ready, a protective layer is applied to it, which protects the device from the harmful effects of corrosion.

The sliding clamp part includes the following structural elements:

  • support body, which is made in the form of the letter "P";
  • stiffening rib;
  • two special clamps in the form of a semicircle;
  • fixing nuts.
Moving clamp support

There are different types of sliding supports, but they have the same functions

This device allows communication to move in a certain direction. The movement of the pipes occurs due to the linear expansion during heating. If communication is predisposed to linear expansion, the use of fixed, rigid supports is not the best choice, as this will lead to deformation of the structure.

Important! The most vulnerable elements of any pipeline construction are joints.

The main objective of this device is to reduce the load on the pipeline. As a rule, the pressure in the system creates a vibration that affects the angle of deviation of the line. The longer the pipe structure, the greater the deflection angle. When choosing a sliding version of the device, it is worth considering this dependence.

The diameter of this product depends on the design features of the pipeline. Depending on the size of the cross section, the sliding clamp supports are divided into 3 series: OPH1, OPH2, OPH3. Data on the sizes of each series are presented in table No. 1.

Table 1

Series Pipe diameter mm
OPH1 18–48
OPH2 and OPH3 53–630

The main advantages of sliding clamp supports include:

  • ease of installation;
  • reliability;
  • a large assortment;
  • long term of operation.
Moving clamp support

Sliding structures are used for pipes of different diameters, the size of the support is divided into several series

The cost of these products depends on various factors. The cheapest products cost several hundred rubles, and the most expensive representatives of this family can be sold for tens of thousands of rubles.

Varieties of sliding supports

As a rule, steel is used in the manufacture of such products. Steel has excellent strength characteristics, so the steel part is a reliable fixture.

There are several types of sliding supports:

  • sliding clamp support;
  • ballpoint;
  • roller;
  • dielectric;
  • on metal brackets.

Clamp sliding part is the most common and often used. Ballpoint is used for communications that are prone to lateral movement. Dielectric has a more complex structure and is used to protect the system from electricity. The roller bearing fixes the pipe and allows it to move along the axis when heated. The support, which is mounted on the brackets, provides movement of the pipe in a specific direction. Each of these types has its own structural and, accordingly, operational differences, however, they all perform one function - protecting communications from damage.

Support sliding clamp for PPU pipe

The peculiarity of this support is the diameter of the clamps, which are fixed on the polyurethane foam pipe. PPU pipes have an insulating layer that increases the overall diameter of the structure, so products for PPU pipes have quite large clamps.

For some northern regions, the thickness of the insulating layer should be greater than the standard indicator, in such cases the support for PU foam pipes is indispensable.
